Moroka Swallows and Orlando Pirates played out to a 1-1 draw in the DStv Premiership clash on Wednesday evening.
Lindokuhle Mtshali opened the scoring in the 27th minute, one of only four shots the Dube Birds registered throughout the encounter.
Pirates, on the other hand, registered 19 and finally made one count in the 53rd minute thanks to Patrick Maswanganyi.Pirates continued to dominate possession throughout the match (77%), but on a day where they left their shooting boots at home, and could only get three shots on target in total, they couldn’t find a winner.
The visitors also saw Nkosinathi Sibisi receive a red card in the 96th minute.The result sees Pirates in 4th position, while Swallows are in 13th, just outside the relegation zone.
In other results on the night, Steve Komphela continued to see out positive results since returning to Golden Arrows (9th) as his charges held Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport United to a thumping 2-2 stalemate.
Matsatsantsa eased into the 2-0 lead before the shrill of the half-time whistle, courtesy of goals from Ime Okon and Terrence Dzvukamanja.
The talking to Arrows received from Komphela certainly did enough as they clawed their way back into the tie, with late strikes from Lungelo Nguse and Gladwin Shitolo.
Chippa United made a big jump from 14th to 11th on the log, defeating relegation-threatened Cape Town Spurs 2-0 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
