Miguel Timm believes Orlando Pirates‘ maturity helped them defeat Golden Arrows in their DStv Premiership match last Sunday at Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale, KwaZulu-Natal.
This comes after Bucs defeated Abafana Bes’thende 2-1, with goals from Patrick Maswanganyi and Karim Kimvuidi, and Arrows got a consolation goal from Nduduzo Sibiya.
“We recognize that this is an important month for us. We were a group of mature guys who helped each other. It’s difficult to play here (Mpumalanga Stadium). But I believe the outcome was not a true reflection of the game; we could have scored more (goals),” Timm said after the game.
Good fluidity, good defense, good attack as a unit, and a well-deserved outcome.” The Buccaneers have now won three consecutive games as they look to finish the season on a high note with two games remaining before the break.
Pirates are currently third in the league standings with 25 points after 14 matches, eight points behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who have 33 points, but the Pretoria club has only played 11 games.
They will play second placed SuperSport United, who have 26 points, at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
The Buccaneers will fancy their chances of winning all three points against Matsantsa a Pitori, who have struggled with consistency in recent matches.
SuperSport have only won one of their last three matches, with two losses in the Confed Cup to USM Alger and Al Hilal Benghazi before a league win over Moroka Swallows FC in their most recent match.
